Mission Day 20
Operative Leading Bastion
Additional equipment has been procured.
Briefing began with intelligence review analysing recent reports. Squads planned to scout south of Naudeh and identify Raider locations and determine if they possessed an encampment. Bastion and Enclave were dispatched as recon teams with Aegis stationed in FOB Dola as a mortar support team.
Upon squads arrival south of Naudeh we began to scan the horizon and survey potential sniper nests and ambush points. Enclave diverted into Naudeh to speak with potential contacts regarding the situation in the area and clarify some potential leads.
Upon receiving notice that Enclave would be entering our area, Bastion, who at this point had begun to press south to search, began to move towards a potentia target location. While attempting to relay an accurate location and direction of travel the vehicle and occupants came under heavy fire, resulting in heavy casualties. Once all casualties had been treated after Enclaves arrival, squads began to move to search the area at which time we suffered additional casualties from accurate sniper fire. After additional casualties werestabilised, Enclave confirmed the elimination of the threat and also reported sweeping the area for intel, locating some documents left by the ambushers. After reviewing the additional information, Bastion moved west from the target point to the ridge line and attempted to get a decent view of Arnay. After beginning to survey the area the squad began receiving accurate sniper fire on to our position. After stabilising casualties we requested illumination support from Aegis. After being unable to reach Enclave and being unaware of their last position and planned direction of movement, Bastion requested additional illumination over an area we believed had additional activity and line of sight to our position. After seeing movement from a motorised unit we believed to be a QRF heading towards us we planned to eliminate the threat. It was identified to be Enclave just before engagement. Upon positively identifying Enclave we moved to support. After additional contact from Arnay in an indefensible area and suffering a fatal casualty squads retreated to regroup.
After retrieving a recovered squad member from MOB, Bastion travelled back to Dola and linked up with Enclave and Aegis. After reviewing the encounter, Enclave believes that the operation to eliminate the Raiders was successful and we gained additional information regarding the secret entrance to Arnay. Squads planned to travel from Dola to Idak but were recalled to MOB by Stronghold.
