Mission Day 19
Operative Leading Bastion
Due to an increased number of available operatives our original planned objective was reassigned. Bastion travelled to Naw to investigate possible issues and renegotiate our current fuel deal. However we called in to Landay on the way and spoke to Omar who mentioned some possible delivery work from Herati to Landay. We received information that due to a surplus supply the village was selling excess fuel to ION personnel that we travelling through the area. We renegotiated to 34K per delivery and deliveries occurring every fortnight. After receiving information that Fortress Squad had completed dealing with Tebbi, we decided to return to MOB and possibly investigate Idak after or complete Omar’s request.
After Squads regrouped at MOB it was decided for all squads to attempt reconnaissance of 2 targets. Bastion would travel South of Ali’s Oil to investigate Idak with Defiance and Fortress to scout Arnay. Bastion during approach of Idak was fired upon. The squad fell back near Ali’s Oil to assess and determined it to be unsuitable for us to continue. We proceeded to head to Dola to stage as a QRF for the additional squads. While in Dola we assessed it to be a suitable staging ground for future operations. After receiving reports from other squads that our assistance would not be required, Bastion planned to return to MOB, calling in at Landay and agreeing to complete the job for Omar. While on the outskirts of Maku we received a transmission from other squad elements asking if we would be in a position to provide support as they had been under heavy fire from the “Tusken” Raiders. Bastion moved South of Naudeh where the squads were engaged. Upon arrival we provided smoke and cover until everyone was reported stable with squads deciding to retreat to Naudeh. Upon arrival in Naudeh, Bastion moved to the Fishing Equipment Supplier [Tariq], and spoke with him about recent events and possible work. He mentioned that Omar was having trouble finding reliable transport and was awaiting a delivery. He also mentioned that the Raiders were still causing problems to the South and gave information on the possible whereabouts of the Enemy Commander, he frequently hides in the mosque at Arnay and the mosque in Khas.
After speaking with Tariq we travelled into Landay and confirmed the job with Omar, delivery from Herati to Landay and another from Landay to Naudeh. Bastion decided to requisition an additional Cargo Humvee for the first stage of the delivery. While in Herati, Bastion Squad was harassed by an MH-6 Little Bird believed to be operated by ION. After reporting to Stronghold, Bastion began suffering from what we believe was some interference with out communication equipment and transport. Upon a successful journey to Landay and completing the first stage SL and Engineer returned to MOB while remaining members completed the second stage of the delivery.
