Summary
We visited Herati, Tebbi and the Northern commander’s outpost, ascertaining that they were all either neutral or friendly with us, and noting that the commander’s outpost still held a significant volume of military crates that the Herati locals who had moved in were trying to keep to themselves.
The brother whose fuel we had paid for offered us a delivery job, hearing that we had acquired a fuel truck, and having recently been involved in a collision that damaged his. We negotiated a $15,000 fee per trip, for transporting his fuel to Naw, and Tebbi. He noted that Landay are now also receiving fuel from Ali instead.
Meanwhile, another group returned to Naudeh, hoping to smooth over the presumed accidental wounding of his guard on our last visit. Fortunately, they only demanded $600 in medical bills to be paid, and maintained our agreement to carry weapons into the town.
On discussing with the Elder, a very successful fishing equipment merchant, and a clockmaker; we discovered a somewhat dangerous-sounding competition being held in Mian with a prize of around $100,000.
Thin on details, we took up the fisherman on his offer of $1000 for a lead on some more dinosaur bones, at which point an astounding lack of navigation skills were displayed, leading to an extended engagement with a group of hostile snipers, known to the locals as ‘Tuskan raiders’, who seemed to be guarding the passage to the South of Naudeh.
Having fallen back, and recapped the basics of orienteering, we discovered the skeletal remains of a smaller dinosaur, very close to Naudeh, which we aim to recover by moonlight.
