Operation 7 - Maku snatch

Fuel, Maku and deals in Naudeh

Summary

Ali informed us of an order made by Maku to refill our stolen fuel truck at his oil depot, giving us early warning to attempt an interdiction. Setting up at the junction North of Alis oil, three groups lay in wait. A fourth group left base late, and took up an inopportune position, which alerted the men in the fuel truck to our presence. They retreated into Maku and we made multiple efforts to clear the town of hostiles.

After regrouping for a second offensive, we drew the enemy out of the town to the East, while a main force swept into the town from the West. Except for a warehouse in the centre of town, this went rather smoothly, and we exfiltrated with our truck just in time to mostly evade a BRDM-2 and PKM technicals that were spotted approaching from Dola.

Having recovered the truck and dealt with the majority of the Maku forces, we set out to negotiate an armed escort for the fuel truck into Naudeh, to protect against a repeat of our first attempt. Another group pulled security at Alis oil to ensure the refuelling was completed safely.

After successfully delivering the fuel to Naudeh, the elder recommended we speak to his town’s famous clockmaker, whose shop is on the East of town, who may have work for us. The elder also confirmed his relaxing of the weapons prohibition, allowing us to walk into the town freely while armed, though we likely shouldn’t take this to any extremes as yet.
