Summary
Mohammed, the Landay elder’s cousin, came to base saying the people of Naw have an artifact they are willing to trade.
After being fleeced for nearly $1000 in spoilt food and broken pottery by the traders at Naw, we paid a bribe to the commander for safe passage and purchased a tanker of fuel and escorted it back. In return, we were given a glowing vial that has been sent for evaluation and sale.
The elder at Naw was very happy with our help and suggested we talk to Ali, the owner of the oilfield to the Southeast of the capital, Anizay. He may have some work for us.
Citizens around Naw mentioned the bad people at Maku, protecting their oilfield, which interested the suits, but no escalation was made.
We also discovered a large trading settlement, Naudeh, which is guarded by an organised and friendly militia, who insisted we could not enter while armed.
Our bills are paid, but we’re not making profits. Fuel is a significant cost, and should not be used as currency/favour unless a more cost-efficient source can be made available.
As a side note, one of the suits has been off-base on the company dime searching for frogs like the ones recovered alongside the dinosaur bones, and has offered personal rewards for any operator that can locate more.
